Our second model call of 2023 was open to all bodies, sizes, ethnicities, local, non-local, and professional models or new models. It was held at Limelight in Ohio City, an elevated space for events, meetings, and photoshoots.

Floral Arrangement Workshop
Fashion Talks collaborated with female owned florist of The Anthurium , to lead a workshop on holiday arrangments. The event was hosted at Plum Hill Creative Studio and allowed attendees to meet and mingle with other creatives in the Cleveland area. We learned more about floral creations and how to build our own personal arrangement.
Greyt Big Talk
Aimon Ali had the opportunity to speak at Greyt Big Talk on creative entrepreneurship. The event was held at Studio Pop Shell and Aimon shared her experience starting Fashion Talks for their Coffee & Breakfast Podcast recording.
Confidence + Money Mindset
Fashion Talks collaborated with entrepreneur coach and speaker, Dear Wild Heart, to lead a workshop on developing a confidence and money mindset. The event was hosted at Plum Hill Creative Studio and allowed attendees to meet and mingle with other creatives in the Cleveland area. We learned more about how to incorporate a confidence mindset into our pursuits. We then locked in our goals with an abundance meditation practice and set intentions for our current projects.
Network & Picnic
The Fashion Talks community gathered at Squires Castle for an afternoon of powerful connections, stunning photos, and an upscale picnic setting curated by Gathering Where You Are. Local creatives had the opportunity to network and discuss their journeys as entrepreneurs.
New York Fashion Week 2022
Fashion Talks attended New York Fashion Week and met fellow creatives, attended a variety of shows and launch parties, and interviewed designers on the inspiration behind their collections. We had the opportunity to see the runway shows of Tiffany Brown, Leonardo Fifth Avenue, Ruby Cai for Global Fashion Collective, and Love Shack Fancy.
The Runway 2022
Cleveland’s annual high fashion runway show was curated with elegance, diversity, and inclusion. Our 2022 Runway Show year was held on Juneteenth and showcased emerging fashion designers, local established designers, international designers, models, and Cleveland Ladies of Influence.
The New Black Vanguard: Photography between Art and Fashion Launch
Fashion Talks Founder, Aimon Ali, had the honor of being on the host committee for The New Black Vanguard Launch. Fashion Talks was able to present a preview of their Juneteenth Runway prior during the launch of the Vanguard exhibit in May.
The New Black Vanguard infuses the contemporary visual vocabulary around beauty and the body with new vitality and substance. It presents new perspectives on the medium of photography and the notions of race and beauty, gender and power.
NBA Allstar Runway
Fashion Talks was honored to have had the opportunity to be a part of an event and initiative during NBA Allstars that supports a much-needed cause. In collaboration with Power of Words Brand and Ohio Guidestone, FT put on an invite-only VIP Fashion Runway. Power of Words Brand is the first fashion brand driven to impact change and break down the barriers around mental health.
Fashion talks had the opportunity to produce the runway portion of the show and assist with influencer outreach.
Vision Board Work Shop 2022
After 2021, the year that threw everyone's life off course (again) we gathered the FT community for a day of fun, inspiration, and vision crafting. To kick off the night, we listened to a motivational speaker to tune into the body's sensations and start to envision the rest of our lives! Then, we created vision boards guided by prompts on how to live our most authentic lives and be creatively inspired in the new year.
Clothes Swap 2021
In collaboration with Pop Shell Studio, Fashion Talks hosted a pop-up clothing swap in which attendees could trade their gently used clothing items and try out a new look. Tickets also came with a $15 Athleta gift card and personal styling from Aimon Ali and Parrish Jamad Purnell Jr.
The Runway 2021
We were beyond grateful to host our first High Fashion Runway at The Madison in Cleveland. Over 300+ attendees experienced the diversity and creativity of local and international brands.
Private Preview Event 2021
Fashion Talks had the opportunity to hold a special sneak peak for our VIPS, Influencers, and Media. Guests that attended our Private Preview Event at Pinecrest also had the chance to personally meet the designers behind the looks that were featured in our 2021 Fashion Runway Show.
